Osteopathy and Breathing Re-training

Do you have concerns about you breathing? Does your breathing hold you back from doing the things you want to do? If so you could be eligible to participate in our study. We are seeking healthy active adults to undergo a series of four 30 minute free osteopathic treatments and breathing retraining. Participants will also be required to undergo non invasive measures of breathing, such as breathing questionnaires, movement economy and heart rate variability. This study is open to and in aged 19 to 45
Healthy volunteers included

Participants must:

  • Be aged between 18 and 45 years of age
  • Be willing and able to give informed written consent (Understand written and verbal English language).
  • Have well controlled asthma if asthmatic.
  • Participate in aerobic exercise for at least four hours per week.
  • Perceive that breathing may be limiting your sporting performance.
Participants must not:
  • Be a current smoker or have a history of smoking in the last 6 months
  • Have any respiratory-related hospitalisations in the last 6 months.
  •  Have any diagnosed emotional disorders or cardiac dysfunctions
  • Have any autonomic nervous system pathologies.
