Massey University Albany Caffeine Study
Researchers from the School of Sport and Exercise are looking to determine the effects of genetics and caffeine ingestion on endurance performance, perception and cognition.
We are looking for:
· Adult males
· Non-smoking
· Able to run 10km comfortably
· Consumes caffeine at least once per week (Chocolate, coffee, tea, energy drinks)
Participants will be asked to come in for a familiarisation session, two main trials (±3-4h each) and two days following each trial (±30min). Each main trial involves a series of physiological and cognitive measures before and after ingestion of caffeine/placebo followed by a 10km time trial and another set of physiological and cognitive measures.
Participants will receive:
· Compensation for travel ($50 petrol voucher)
· Feedback as to your responses of caffeine consumption (genetic test results)
